Hyperhidrosis is a condition that we characterize by excessive sweating. The sweating can affect just one specific area or the whole body. Although not life-threatening, it can be uncomfortable and cause embarrassment and psychological trauma. Excessive sweating is normally most active in the hands, feet, armpits, and the groin.

  • Focal hyperhidrosis: When the excessive sweating is localized. For example, palmoplantar hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating of the palms and soles.
  • Generalized hyperhidrosis: Excessive sweating affects the entire body.

Excessive sweating may be present from birth or might develop later in life. However, most cases of excessive sweating tend to start during a person’s teenage years.

The condition can be due to an underlying health condition, or have no apparent cause:

  • Primary idiopathic hyperhidrosis: “Idiopathic” means “of unknown cause.” In the majority of cases, the hyperhidrosis is localized.
  • Secondary hyperhidrosis: The person sweats too much because of an underlying health condition, such as obesity, gout, menopause, a tumor, mercury poisoning, diabetes mellitus, or hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid gland).

Botox reduces sweating for more than 1 year.
    BOTOX FOR UNDERARM SWEATING

Unlike topical treatments, botox targets sweating as its source. Our doctor injects tiny amounts of botox  into both underarms, skillfully and safely. The treatment takes only a minute or two. Botox enters the sweat glands in the underarms responsible for sweating, and blocks sweat release. Patients treated with Botox  notice a remarkable improvement..

HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT LAST?
    HYPERHIDROSIS (EXCESSIVE SWEATING)
Excessive sweating is normally most active in the hands, feet, armpits, and the groin.

After the first treatment, the effects of Botox  lasts an average of about 7.5 months. And for nearly 40% of patients, Botox reduced sweating for more than 1 year. The amount of time botox remains effective may vary. When your symptoms begin to return, call us to arrange further treatments .
